What is the Walk & Wheel Campaign?
It is a campaign that aims to raise awareness about safe spaces.
The Walk and Wheel will be held on Saturday, 30th June at 4pm. Click here for the full programme.
Why do we need to Unite for Safe Spaces?
We, especially young people and people with disabilities, are all easy targets of acts of violence such as being mugged, harassed, bullied, or being sexually and physically abused. Increasing rates of crime over recent months is of major concern to all of us. We all need to come | |
together to take action collectively, to speak out against violence, and assert and reclaim the right we all have to feel safe and to live free from violence.
If we all don’t take action, then the violence will continue! If you agree, then help us spread this message. Click here to see what some of our celebrity friends have to say about this campaign! <<link to short video >>
How do I start?
Get a Count me in! jersey! It’s only RM25. Pick one up from us, or if you attend any of the schools we’ve visited throughout this campaign, you can get one at school. With this, you show that you not only care about safety, but it’s also your ticket for the Walk & Wheel, concert and ALL the other fun stuff happening on that day!
| What other stuff? |
- School community project competition – are you a student? Then get your classmates together and show us how you would make your school a safer place. Who knows? You might win RM1500! Click here for more details.
- Express Yourself Through Dance – practice at home, come to the Walk & Wheel and show off your funky moves and win cash & prizes!
- Personalise your Count Me In t-shirt with your unique expression of what freedom from violence means to you. Paint, draw, write, cut – use your creativity! Wear it, come for the walk, and you stand to win cash & prizes! Example of a T-shirt displayed below.
