| Annual Treasure Hunt |

| An
annual fundraiser, AWAM’s treasure hunts have been a
favourite mainstay for
many supporters since 2004. Our treasure hunts have always offered an
alternative to the mainstream hunting format. Our women-only
motor-hunts were
designed to challenge stereotypes about women being bad drivers. As
such, the
hunt was not merely an opportunity to raise much needed funds but to
reach out
to the public about AWAM’s work and concerns in a fun,
unique way. To that end, our hunts have carried themes and taglines such as ‘Break the clues, Break the silence’ (2006) and ‘Hunting for Equal Footing’ (2008). Our hunts have attracted regular supporters and hundreds sign-up to compete each time. Our 2008 hunt attracted the largest turn-out so far with close to 700 participants, and marked the first time we chose to organise a walk-hunt, in view of growing climate change concerns. Many corporations, companies and individuals have generously supported the hunt in cash and in kind throughout the years, such as Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd, New Zealand Natural, HSBC Sdn Bhd.
