AWAM initiated the formation of MAN.V as the first men's group to work towards elimination of violence against women in Malaysia . This initiative has received a wide spectrum of men's support, ranging from radio deejays and sports personalities to film actors and policy makers.

Man.V aims to create a society where men, women and children value and respect each other's humanity, treating each other as equal human beings free from all forms of violence and discrimination. Its members believe that men have allowed the development of a culture of violence that dehumanises women. As violence against women take son many different forms - physical, sexual, psychological, emotional - they call upon men and boys to:

  • Learn and understand the problem of violence against women
  • Question why some men become violent
  • Listen and empathise with women
  • Identify and oppose sexual harassment and violence in your workplace and home
  • Challenge sexist language and jokes that degrades women
  • Examine how your own behaviour might contribute to the problem
  • Support our campaign
  • Wear the White Ribbon
